Chris Metz Dominick moved to Virginia in 1972 where she met her husband and raised one daughter.  Chris Metz-Dominick has worked for the State of Maryland since 1977and plans to retire at the end of 2009.  With her bird-watching partner of 11 years, Mike, they travel throughout North America in search of the next 'life bird'.  Chris and Mike traveled to Ecuador in 2008 to expand their “bird list.”

Roy Pottenger received his medical & Master of Science degrees from the IU School of Medicine, completed his residency at UC Davis and Loyola. Roy has practiced orthopedic surgery in Carmichael, CA since 1981. He is a founding partner of the Northern California Orthopedic Center . Roy is the father of three sons. Dr. Pottenger is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon.

Chris Wyatt received a degree from the University of Cincinnati School of Architecture before moving to Nashville, TN to teach. Chris and wife Verna have three children and a grandchild all living in the Nashville area. Chris and Robin Hood founded Crossroads Architecture to serve clients in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Chris has designed a wide range of residential and commercial projects.

Margaret Burton and Roy Pottenger were married on June 8, 2008 and now resides in Sacramento, CA

Margaret Burton Pottenger lives and works in Sacramento, California. She is a  career nurse and specializes in Cardiac Telemetry Medicine. Margaret previously  lived in San Juan Capistrano, California.

 

 

Veora Banks Brewer married Pat 6 months after graduating  from NHS.  Pat passed away in September of 2002.  Veora has two children and three grandchildren. Veora lives in the North Myrtle Beach area where she and Pat had planned to build a home.  She works as a Customer Service Rep for the largest on-line golf shoe sales company and enjoys playing golf, cross-stitching, making quilts, and walking the white sands of South Carolina.

Vicki Varmo Shepard

Is enjoying her retirement from teaching in New Braunfels, Texas. She says it’s a good life in the heart of Hill Country and loves having the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers running through town for summer tubing. Vicki has two children and fills her time with making jewelry and managing a truly Texas kind of shop in historic Gruene, TX. Vicki invites her NHS classmates to come on down y’all to visit, vacation

and maybe see the world famous diving pigs.

Steve Mikels headed for the military following graduation. He completed his education after his tour of duty.  Having worked in Criminal Justice and Personal Physical Training, he and wife Debbie made a life changing decision to move to Montana. Steve and Debbie have six children, 5 grandchildren, 13 horses, 3 dogs and a cat.

Steve Sybesma was founder and owner of Sunshine Productions, Deer Creek and other Indiana area businesses before selling them in the late 1990’s. Steve has called Shanghai, China home since 2003.

Ruthann Legge Aull, after getting her and Roger’s two daughters through Harvard Law School and Princeton, completed her own BA in 2006 and plans to study for her Masters. Ruthann has completed four marathons including one in Athens, Greece. Ruthann and Roger Aull live in San Gabriel, California.

Sherry Fortier Sexson After graduating from Indiana University with a degree in real estate, Sherry married Chuck (also an IU grad). They have two sons, both living and working in Oklahoma.

 

Sherry is a professional real estate agent (Realtor) in and around Tulsa. Tulsa People magazine has featured Sherry as one of Tulsa’s “Superstars.” Sherry and family have lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for more than sixteen years

Suzanne DeJaeger Stein and husband Tim, sail out of their home port in Wewahitchka, Florida. Since 1983 the Stein family has sailed their 46’ Morgan ketch , TRI-UMPH, more than 180,000 miles. Helen Gulledge graduated from IU School of Nursing in 1982 and relocated to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida.  Twenty-five years later she resides in Monticello, FL  and looking forward to retirement from the Tallahassee Veterans Outpatient Clinic where she has been Nurse Manager the past five years.  She enjoys traveling, antiquing, the beach and road trips with 2 grandchildren.

Helen has one son.

Budd Eversman has been in the recreation business since 1973. Over the years he has been involved in the management, operation, development and ownership of several family entertainment centers, as well as wholesale distribution equipment company. Additionally, he remains involved as a consultant, real estate development and Realtor.

He owned a roller skating and family fun center along with a family entertainment center. He had been a speaker at several convention and conferences and currently servesdon the board of directors for the Roller Skating Associations International. Budd and his wife (Mary McKee, NHS ‘68) resided in Ohio. (See obituaries)

Don Brandt After graduation, Don enlisted in the US Marine Corp where he traveled extensively until leaving the service in 1973. Don now lives in the Chicago area where he owns DB2 Prototype Engineering, Inc. DB2 assists designers, engineers and inventors throughout all stages of product development including 3-dimensional machined and hand-fabricated models. Don has 4 children and 3 grandchildren. When not working, he enjoys his favorite pastime of fishing.

Rebecca Kai Dotlich (Becky Thompson) attended Indiana University after graduating from Northwest High School with the Class of 1969 and now writes children's books in her home office. She credits her children and grandchildren for much of her inspiration. Her work has been featured on PBS' "Reading Rainbow." Becky is married to Steve Dotlich (NHS 69). Jo Ellen Myers graduated with Class of 68 and joined United Airlines in Chicago.

 

Dale Dotlich (Class of 68) went to Indiana State University

 

Dale and Jo Ellen have been married for 36 years and have 4 children, 5 grandchildren and a devil dog named Nemo.

 

Jo Ellen is a nurse at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis and is Care Coordinator for Telehealth. 

 

Dale has been a Crane Operator for many years in the Dotlich tradition. 

 

They enjoy traveling and an extended stay in Mexico during the winter. 

 

Jo Ellen and Dale have been closely involved with the Class of 68’s reunions.

Mickey Reddick attended  Indiana Wesleyan University. He served in the US Army before completing another career with the Marion County Sheriff’s Dept. Mickey is the new chief of the University of Indianapolis Police Dept.

 

Mickey and Donna have 4 children and 7 grandchildren.

Cynthia (Walker) Watts (NHS ‘67), is the Risk and Quality Manager for 8 Dialysis Clinics in Southwest Georgia. She has also been a public speaker and trainer for more than 30 years.  She is a Certified Work and Life Coach and has worked with diverse groups ranging from home care products to healthcare to the United States Marines.  A native of Alabama, she attended Northwest High School her Junior and Senior years. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, writer, actress, cook, Sunday School teacher, and singer.  Cynthia has two daughters, the eldest having 7-year-old triplets.

Cynthia’s husband, Stan, is a cattle manager on a Georgia hunting plantation caring for the horses, the hunting dogs, deer, turkey, and quail in addition to managing 1500 head of Angus cattle.
